Position : ASST. MANAGER FABRIC SOURCING

Department : PRODUCTION

Reporting To : GM-OPERATION / SR.QUALITY MANAGER

Repartee : Fabric in-charges, Fabric supervisors

Coordination : Production Head/ Quality Head/Factory Heads/ Head – PD,

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Fabric Sourcing : Identify and source high-quality knitted fabrics from reliable suppliers, ensuring materials meet the company’s quality standards and customer requirements.

Quality Assurance : Oversee the inspection and testing of fabrics to ensure they meet industry standards and specific client specifications. Address and resolve any quality issues with suppliers.

Inventory Management : Manage fabric inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet production schedules without overstocking.

Supplier Management : Develop and maintain strong relationships with fabric suppliers, negotiating prices, lead times, and delivery schedules to ensure cost- effective and timely procurement.

Cost Control : Monitor fabric costs and work closely with the procurement and production teams to maintain cost efficiencies while ensuring high-quality materials.

Production Coordination : Collaborate with the production team to ensure fabric availability aligns with production timelines, avoiding delays in garment anufacturing.

Compliance : Ensure all fabrics comply with standards, including sustainability certifications.

Reporting : Prepare regular reports on fabric inventory, quality issues, and supplier performance for management review.

Trend Analysis : Stay updated on the latest trends in knitted fabrics and integrates new materials and technologies into the product line as appropriate.

• Fabric development within the sampling department for research and
• Interpretation of new qualities sent as a tech pack included for varied styles in season.
• Weaving, Knitting, bleaching, dyeing finishing, and printing process follow up for sample development.
• Classification of different swatches by supplier to develop similar desk loom qualities in achieving picks, appearance and hand feel as per the standard required.
• Arranging the mocks and swatches according to wash type, and peaching levels for a range library presentation.
• Taking charge of the fabric sample store library, maintaining MIS of all issuance and clearances.
• Monitoring the daily production output from weaving mills & printing mills & dyeing mills.
• Color assessment through visual, Pantone, and X-rite.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :

• They should be follow yarn to finished fabric.
• Identify and resolve the Quality challenges and recommend solutions.
• Review and approve the new developed fabric before submit to PD department.
• To set the fabric specification for new fabric developments.
• Experience of establishing raw material test standards.
• Organizational skills with experience of working to critical deadlines.
• Good communication skills with experience of liaising with a range of suppliers and other partners.
• Experience of working within a team.
• Knowledge of languages will be an advantage but not a prerequisite.
