Procurement Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to acquire fabric and textiles that meet quality standards and cost objectives.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in the procurement function.
Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select fabric suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure the best possible agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and efficient supply chains.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee inventory levels of fabric and textiles, ensuring that stock levels align with production schedules and demand forecasts.
- Coordinate with production and sales teams to align procurement activities with business needs.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all procured fabrics meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Address and resolve any issues related to fabric quality or supplier performance.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to inform procurement strategies.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, market conditions, and cost analysis to senior management.
Budget Management:
- Manage procurement budgets effectively, ensuring expenditures are within budget and providing regular financial reports.
- Implement cost-control measures to maximize value for money.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of procurement activities and supplier agreements.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Provide training and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Textile Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) are advantageous.
- Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in fabric procurement or textile management, with at least 10 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Skills :
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of fabric types, textile properties, and supply chain dynamics.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
