Technical Leadership and Support:
• Provide technical guidance and support to the knitting department staff on all knitting-related matters.
• Analyze new styles and provide technical input on production feasibility and material requirements.
• Develop and implement best practices and standard operating procedures for knitting processes.
• Troubleshoot complex knitting issues, including machine malfunctions and fabric defects.
• Stay updated on the latest knitting technologies, machinery, and yarn developments.
Production Management and Planning:
• Coordinate with planning and other departments to establish production targets and schedules.
• Monitor daily and weekly production output, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
• Assess resource requirements (machinery, manpower, raw materials) and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure availability.
• Optimize knitting processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
• Ensure adherence to production plans and delivery timelines.
Quality Control and Assurance:
• Establish and maintain quality standards for knitted fabrics.
• Monitor fabric quality throughout the production process and implement quality control measures.
• Analyze quality issues, identify root causes, and implement preventive actions.
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
Team Management and Development:
• Supervise and manage the knitting department team, including machine operators and technicians.
• Set performance objectives, monitor team performance, and provide feedback.
• Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Communication and Coordination:
• Communicate effectively with other departments, such as merchandising, quality assurance, and planning.
• Coordinate with suppliers on yarn and other material specifications.
• Interact with buyer representatives to address technical and production-related issues.
• Prepare and present technical reports and production updates to management.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the knitting department.
• Promote a safe working environment and implement safety procedures.
• Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills :
• Education: A bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, or a related field is often preferred.
• Experience: Several years of experience in a knitting or textile manufacturing environment, with progressive experience in technical roles and team leadership.
