• Interact with customers and other professionals regularly, so they need good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to handle customer issues, such as when a customer is unhappy with a product.
• Able to lead, motivate, and support their sales team.
• Able to manage inventory levels to ensure the store has enough of each product.
• They may also track purchase orders and maintain a supply chain.
• Retail managers need to be able to solve problems, such as reassigning employees, redesigning a product display, or resolving a conflict.
• Able to hire and train new employees.
• Able to organize store operations and allocate responsibilities to staff.
• Able to prepare and control the store's budget.
• Able to monitor stock levels and purchases, and ensure they stay within budget.
• Able to plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays.
• Able to keep up with market trends to determine if the store needs improvements.
• Able to analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts.
• Able to ensure the store complies with all legal health and safety guidelines.
