Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and creative Textile Designer & Product Development Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing innovative textiles while also overseeing product development from CAD design to value-added products (physical products). This role involves collaborating with in-house sample karigars and coordinating with outsourced resources when required, ensuring high-quality sample development and production in keeping with required pricing.

Key Responsibilities :

Textile Design :

• Create original designs for home textiles, including embroidered, printed, and woven products such as cushions, kitchen linens, and table runners’ independent in-house collection as well as from mood boards.
• Research trends in colors, patterns, and materials to develop fresh, market-relevant designs constantly upgrading techniques and concepts to meet market trends.
• Use design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD) for creating digital patterns and technical files.

Product Development :
• Lead the product development process from concept through to physical product, ensuring designs are transformed into high-quality samples.
• Work closely with in-house karigars to develop prototypes, providing clear instructions and feedback to ensure samples meet design and quality standards.
• Coordinate with outsourced vendors or karigars when necessary to manage additional production tasks.
• Oversee the sourcing of fabrics and materials required for sampling and production, ensuring alignment with buyer specifications.

 Collaboration :
• Amicably liaise with internal teams such as marketing, production, and sales to align product development efforts with buyer requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely sample development and product delivery.

Quality Assurance :
• Ensure that all samples and final products meet quality standards, including durability, color accuracy, and overall aesthetic.
• Continuously improve processes to optimize quality, cost-effectiveness, and production efficiency.

Qualifications :
• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in textile design and product development, preferably in the home textile industry.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD).
• Hands-on experience in embroidery, weaving, and textile printing techniques.
• Experience working with karigars (artisans) and managing outsourced production processes.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee the product lifecycle from concept to completion.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external resources.
