Position Overview:
A Fabric Merchandiser is essential in the textile and apparel industry, responsible for managing the sourcing, production, and delivery of fabric for garment manufacturing. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate various stages of production to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing and Procurement
- Identify and source suitable fabrics based on client specifications.
- Negotiate prices with suppliers to secure the best deals while maintaining quality.
- Maintain relationships with fabric mills and suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
2. Order Management
- Collect Purchase Orders (P.O.) from the head office and confirm order details with clients.
- Prepare comprehensive order sheets and distribute them to relevant departments (planning, production, etc.).
- Monitor order progress and ensure all materials are in-house as per the production schedule.
3. Production Coordination
- Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring alignment with delivery deadlines.
- Oversee the sampling process, including lab dips and strike-offs, ensuring timely approvals from clients.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure fabric availability for each stage of manufacturing.
4. Quality Control
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to monitor fabric quality throughout the production process.
- Schedule inspections at various stages of production to ensure compliance with client specifications.
- Address any quality issues promptly and effectively communicate solutions to clients.
5. Logistics Management
- Manage logistics for shipping fabrics, ensuring timely handover to shipping lines.
- Confirm shipment schedules and resolve any logistical challenges that may arise.
6. Communication and Reporting
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding order status, sampling feedback, and approvals.
- Prepare reports on production status, inventory levels, and any potential delays for management review.
- Conduct meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders to discuss project updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a fabric merchandiser or in a similar role within the textile industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and proficiency in sourcing fabrics.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of different types of fabrics, their properties, and applications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills for cost management and pricing strategies.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication for effective stakeholder engagement.

Pay: ₹14,580.29 - ₹25,000.00 per month
