• Assist in developing new garment designs and prototypes.
• Candidates should understand the tech pack, and if something is not clear, they should ask the designer.
• A candidate should definitely have basic knowledge of patterns and body measurements, and they should also know which part of the pattern corresponds to which section.
• They should also know about cutting, so if a garment has any specific placement, they should cut it accordingly.
• They should also know about computer embroidery, specifically how many inches the embroidery will cover.
• A candidate should also know about grading, specifically how much grading is needed for each part.
• They should also know which needle to use for which fabric and which attachments are needed according to the construction.
• They should also know what trims are being used in the garment and how many are needed.
• They should have knowledge of how to reduce the average cost of the garment.
• Conduct fabric and material research and testing.
• Oversee sample making and ensure quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless production.
• Maintain documentation of R&D activities and report progress.

Qualifications :

• Degree or diploma in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or related field.
• 10- 12 years of experience in garment or textile R&D.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabric types, and textile testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
