We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to join our dynamic team. The Designer will play a critical role in ensuring efficient stock management, seamless coordination with the production and design teams, and timely fulfilment of customer orders. They will also be required to assist the Head designer in costing, designing, sampling, and merchandising various collections.
Key Responsibilities:
Sampling, Costing, and merchandising: Excellent fashion sense for noticing the changes in current fashion trends and predicting future trends for merchandising. Evaluating the colour schemes, patterns, and designs in an effective way. Knowledge of various types of textiles, fabric patterns, and their criteria of identification. Up-to-date information on the latest fashion garment silhouettes, designs, and the method of designing
Creative Design and Trend Analysis: Work closely with the Design Head, manufacturing team, print vendors, and merchandisers to design innovative and trend-led print concepts for fashion textiles. Research current and future trends, create mood boards and collaborate with the team to develop exciting collections that showcase the latest print developments.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding their needs and delivering high-quality designs in a timely manner.
Commercial Awareness: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of customer briefs to create tailored collections that align with market demands and preferences.
Print Expertise: Apply excellent knowledge of print design, including creating repeat patterns, placement-based design, and preparing files for print, while ensuring impeccable print aesthetics.
Adaptability and Resilience: Display an adaptable design handwriting that can respond effectively to emerging trends and client briefs.
Colour Expertise: Exhibit a strong sense of colour and proficiency in creating appealing colour combinations.
CAD Skills: Utilize advanced CAD skills in Photoshop and/or Illustrator to bring your designs to life.
Team Collaboration: Be a strong team player, proactively contributing to the collaborative and creative atmosphere of the design team.
Task Management: Efficiently manage assigned tasks and projects, ensuring deadlines are met with precision.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in fashion Design from a reputed institute.
Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in garment manufacturing or related industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\
Excellent time management, great leadership, and organizational skills
Oral and verbal communication skills for communicating effectively with designers, store owners, and clients
Exceptional negotiation skills for negotiating the terms and conditions effectively
Ability to work in solitary conditions or with a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
