Role & responsibilities
The Dyeing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all dyeing operations in a particular shift in a synthetic dyeing mill. The role includes managing the dyeing process, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and leading the dyeing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of synthetic fabric and dyes, hands-on experience with dyeing machinery, and the ability to optimize processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Operations Management:
Oversee day-to-day dyeing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and customer requirements.
Monitor the dyeing processes for synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, and acrylic.
Ensure the correct dye recipes and procedures are followed for each batch.
Supervise a team of dyeing operators and ensure they follow safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Quality Control:
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure uniformity and color accuracy.
Troubleshoot dyeing defects and work with the quality control team to resolve any issues.
Implement corrective actions to ensure finished products meet the highest quality standards.
Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities to improve dyeing techniques, reduce costs, and optimize the use of dyes and chemicals.
Develop and implement strategies to reduce water and energy consumption in the dyeing process.
Maintain and update dyeing machine parameters to ensure maximum efficiency.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste management policies.
Enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries within the dyeing department.
Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections.
Team Leadership and Training: Lead, train, and motivate the dyeing team to achieve high performance levels.
Provide training on new dyeing techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
Conduct performance reviews and support professional development for team members.
Inventory Management:
Monitor dye and chemical inventory, ensuring that stocks are maintained at optimal levels.
Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of materials.
Minimize waste by managing resources effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Diploma or Bachelors degree in Textile Engineering, Dyeing Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a dyeing supervisory role, specifically in synthetic fiber dyeing.
Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of synthetic dyes, fibers, and dyeing machinery.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a production environment.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills to address dyeing defects and production issues.
Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain quality control and ensure color consistency across batches.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams.
Computer Skills: Proficient in using dyeing software and Microsoft Office.
