Job Descriptions

The Quality Head will lead the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams to ensure that all garments meet the highest quality standards before delivery to customers. The role involves developing quality strategies, setting benchmarks, and ensuring compliance with buyer requirements, factory policies, and international standards. The candidate will play a key role in improving processes, minimizing defects, and ensuring customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with the company's production goals.
  • Define quality benchmarks, SOPs, and KPIs for all production stages, including fabric inspection, cutting, stitching, fusing, printing, finishing, and packing.
  • Monitor and update the quality management system (QMS) to meet buyer-specific requirements and industry standards.

2. Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and train the QA and QC teams to ensure adherence to quality processes.
  • Conduct regular team performance reviews and identify training needs to build a skilled workforce.
  • Promote a culture of quality awareness across all departments.

3. Process Control and Compliance:

  • Oversee quality checks at every stage of production, including raw material inspection, in-line checks, and final product audits.
  • Ensure compliance with international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AQL standards) and buyer-specific requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for recurring quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.

4. Production and Process Improvement:

  • Collaborate with production, planning, and R&D teams to address quality issues proactively.
  • Monitor and minimize defect rates and rework percentages across processes.
  • Develop tools and techniques for real-time quality tracking and reporting.

5. Customer Interaction:

  • Liaise with clients and buyers to understand quality expectations and address complaints or feedback.
  • Ensure timely preparation of quality reports, test results, and certifications for buyers.
  • Manage pre-shipment inspections (PSI) and ensure products meet export and buyer compliance standards.

6. Audits and Documentation:

  • Conduct internal quality audits to ensure compliance with the QMS.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of quality processes, inspection reports, and buyer feedback.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, certifications, and compliance requirements to ensure factory readiness.

7. Vendor and Supplier Coordination:

  • Evaluate and approve vendors and suppliers based on material quality standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for resolving quality issues in raw materials or outsourced processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of garment production processes, including cutting, stitching, fusing, and finishing.
  • Proficiency in quality standards like ISO, AQL levels, and buyer-specific requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with quality tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, and Kaizen.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams, vendors, and buyers.
  • Analytical mindset to identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues effectively.

Tools and Technology:

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.

KPIs for Performance Evaluation:

  1. Reduction in defect rates and rework percentages.
  2. Buyer satisfaction and reduction in quality-related complaints.
  3. Timely resolution of quality issues and adherence to delivery timelines.
  4. Implementation of process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  5. Training effectiveness and team performance improvements.
